Folsom Street Fair...

Want to try out the biggest leather event in the world, but don't have the money?

Folsom Street Fair is the biggest BDSM event in the world. 325,000+ people, many of whom are shopping for BDSM gear. It's a great place to get exposure of your products, but maybe a bit pricey. After all, a full booth, 10'x10' with insurance and a booth structure rented from Folsom Street Events can run around $655. That's a lot of money for most of us to shell out for an event.

Would you be interested in a deal that lets you "test the waters" before fulling committing to that kind of expense? Maybe you don't have enough stock for a full booth. Maybe you can't swing the expense of a full booth. There are lots of reasons not to want to deal with the hassle of doing Folsom alone. And as added incentive, Society of Janus, The Group in Fresno, and Exiles will be sending people to shop at my booth from their booths. We get a lot of traffic.

I "sublet" booth space at Folsom to help cover my costs since I now need three booths just for my stuff. I supply tables, chairs, and shade cover as well and you'll be included under my insurance. Of course, we DO expect you to be there to help set up and tear down and help load the tables, chairs, etc. onto the trucks. (We have 45 minutes to get off the street.) But if you're interested, I have a half space available for the 2009 Fair. One of my long term "tenants" has moved and given up vending. The cost is $275 and I need the money by August 1.

So let me know.

Domina

Half of a 10'x10' doesn't sound like a lot, but it generally works pretty well if you don't have enough stock for a big space..

Well, it seems that despite the previous rumours, Tribe is still allowing us to function here. So we'll try to get this going again. So hopefully vendors and those seeking vendors will start to post again. We look forward to seeing some activity soon. Take care and be well...

One of the people who was going to vend with me had to cancel. So I have half a booth space available. The cost is $230. This includes a table, two chairs and a sun cover. You'll also be covered by my event insurance.

So...any takers?

Thinking about vending at Folsom.

Hi all. My partner and I are thinking about vending at Folsom this year. Could anybody here give me any information on what to expect? We've vended at Thunder in the Mountains several times and at Lady Thorn's Kinky Flea once. Also, I talked to somebody last year about sharing a booth. We won't have enough product to fill an entire booth. So we'd prefer to share a booth.

Kinky Karnival Oct 21st...Woohoo!

Folsom is over ...so there are no SF bay area vending events until Lady Thorn's in December, right? WRONG!! Kinky Karnival is shaping up to be a spectacular event with a bit of something for everyone! Thanks to the wicked and zany minds of Ziffra and Daemon it appears this is going to be anything *but* just another event to vend. If you vend locally and haven't reserved space yet you might want to consider doing so soon as last I heard space was growing scarce. The event is being held at Edges in Santa Clara. This play space is well equipped with quite a selection of versatile equipment, has multiple rooms with varied ambience, and the people running it are just plain nice folks! Kinkiy Karnival is Oct 21st and, I believe, the event begins at noon for vending, games and entertainment, then is followed by a play party at 6:00. For more info and accurate start times etc. please check out Edges web site at www.edges.biz . PantherProwLs Enterprises will be there with a wide selection of wares designed to fit the needs of any level player.. from the novice to the seasoned sadist. Stop by and see us! We even provide demos so you can try before you buy!

Lack of Integrity and guts...

To all of you who lacked the personal (and corporate) integrity and intestinal fortitude to stand up for your (and our) Right to Freedom of Expression...

When you are forced to walk into the ovens, I hope you remember that you had a chance to stand up and be counted... and did not do so. You dishonor America and everything our men and women have fought and died for for over 200 years. You fail to support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and have lost your right to make choices for yourselves as free men (and women). I guarantee you this will come back on your heads. It is people like you who were afraid to stand up and be counted that watched as the right to defend ourselves was taken away and the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution was nullified and now you're afraid to walk the streets... And now you're afraid to stand up and be counted and make your voice heard when they are stripping you of your right to express yourself... And it was people like you that enabled Adolf Hitler to rise to power... So remember when the "american" SchutzenStaffel in the form of the DoJ, the FBI, and other "Law Enforcement" agencies come to your door, that you had your chane and threw it away. May you reap the rewards of your choices and actions....

Well folks it looks like the moral majority and CWA fanatics have won yet another battle in their ongoing pursuit to rid the world of all they deem pornographic. Below is my reply to "Wade" who seems to have been hired on as chief executioner for freedom of expression on Tribe:

Hi Wade,

Unfortunately this new policy totally negates my primary reason for being a member here. For what it's worth there are no pictures on my tribe pages because it was created for the purpose of sharing information among leather artisans and vendors, not for posting "pornographic" images. While I can fully understand your desire to avoid legal entangements and liability I also feel like this is the same sort of bait and switch Yahoo pulled (thus losing a large part of it's userbase) when it at first allowed and even encouraged adult content to build up it's userbase only to begin censoring and deleting adult groups once it got big enough and no longer needed their support. It is sad what the people of the US are allowing to happen to our freedoms. It is also unfortunate that, considering the vast amount of adult groups flourishing here, tribe.net is going to fade away rapidly as the disenfranchised leave in search of yet another place to freely express their thoughts and share camaraderie. I will be sending out a notice to the members of my tribe that it will be closing but will be back up elsewhere as soon as I am able to locate a site or set up my own and will keep them informed of my progress. I will then be deleting my account here. I wish you luck when all that remain here are those so bland they even bore themselves.

> Hi,
>
> We wanted to drop a note to everybody who
> currently moderates a “Mature” tribe, because of
> these important changes coming up on December
> 20th:
>
> 1) We’re implementing Community Flagging. To
> ensure that all posts are respectful, and to
> respond to concerns from our users about some of
> the content on the site being offensive, we’re
> going to allow members to flag content (photos
> and listings) for removal. In our judgment, it’s
> likely that at least some of the photos in the
> Mature tribe(s) you currently moderate will be
> flagged for removal by other tribe.net members.
>
> 2) We’re updating our Terms of Use (“TOU”). This
> update is to reflect changes in the legal
> environment facing us and our members. In
> particular, posting content that portrays
> obscenity, pornography, or sexually explicit
> conduct is for practical purposes illegal for
> members like ours under U.S. federal law. So it
> will be prohibited in our TOU, and we will drop
> the “Mature” designation from your tribe and
> sitewide.
>
> 3) If your tribe currently has “public” status,
> we’ll be switching it to “private” status on
> 12/20. This means that only invited members will
> be able to see any content in it, and any links
> to content inside the tribe will only work if
> the user is already a member of your tribe. It
> also means your tribe will not appear in search
> results. We’re making the switch for you to give
> you time to remove all the content that’s in
> violation of the new TOU. (As a moderator, you
> will always have the option down the road of
> switching the status back to public).
>
> What to do now: we suggest you remove all photos
> that you think are likely to be considered in
> violation of the new TOU. When you’re done with
> that, and only then, go to the Manage Tribe page
> and change the Mature category for your tribe
> from Mature to whatever seems most appropriate.
> Doing this now may save you a lot of work down
> the road, but it is only an option to you before
> 12/20.
>
> Tribe will always depend on great moderators for
> remaining a great service, and so we’re grateful
> for your help as we all go through these
> changes. If you have questions, we’ll be
> discussing this online at http://moderators.
> tribe.net and http://tribeideas.tribe.net
>
> Thanks,
>
> Wade Lagrone
> VP Marketing, Tribe.net
> http://www.tribe.net/template/pub%2CAbout.vm
>
> P.S. If you have so many photos to remove that
> it’s a big chore, let us know and we’ll figure
> out a way to help.

Greetings Vendors,

17 Oct 2005
Below you will find the information for the Wet Spot
Holiday Fair. If you haev already recieved this email
please know oyu do not need ot reply a second time. It
came to my attention that some vendors had not recieved
the first mailing so thsi is being sent a second time
from a different email address. I appologize for the
duplication to those of you that have already replied,
and to those of you that did nto get it the first time.
We are workign on teh problem as to why the POPMAIL does
not like to send mass mailings from the vendor account.

Also please note I will let everyone know prior to the
original Nov 15th date. As I have had several vendors
asking, because fo teh need to get product ready I have
moved the notification date up as much as I can. If you
need still more time contact me at vendor@wetspot.org
and we can discuss it.

AGain, IF your recieved this mail the first time, AND
you have already replied, please do not reply again.

Also, PLEASE if you knwo of other vendors that may like
to be in this show pass this invite along.

Micca

Please find below all the information and directions
for registration for the holiday Vendor Fair sponsored
by the Wet Spot.

As you know our Holiday vendor fair is almost upon
us. The date is December 3rd from noon until 10PM. We
will be using ConWorks for the fair, same site as the
summer fair. Other events will be going on at the same
time, so this should be a large crowd event again this
year.

This years event will be bigger and better than last
year, the circus acts will be preforming in the
vending areas, so this will help to draw even more
people into the vending space.

There will be a ball again this year starting at 9pm,
so even those people coming only for the ball will
have a chance to browse and buy from our vendors.

If you want to be considered for vendor space, please
read this letter very carefully. You need to get back
to me as soon as possible. Even if you have already
contacted me about vending you need to respond to this
letter!

First of all, being selected for a space will not be
on a first come first serve basis. I will be using
the following criteria for picking vendors, the same
criteria used when we hold the fair at the Wet Spot.

We will be working to increase the variety of product
being sold, so we don't have everyone selling the same
thing. More variety means more people, not as many
vendors selling the same product means more potential
for the vendor to make money.

This is the criteria I will use to choose vendors,
these are NOT questions needing to be answered.

(in this order)
1. What you are vending. Is it unique? Is it the same
as other vendors? Is it high quality?

2. Have you vended before? Having vended before does
not automatically make you a pick for space. Making
room for new vendors is a way to guarantee that our
customers don't get bored with what we are offering.

3. How many space will you be using? Are you willing
to share or split a booth with another vendor?

4. Finally, when did you send in your request. If two
vendors fit all the other requirements and I can't
make a clear decision, I will fall back to who sent
their request in first.

IF YOU WANT TO BE EVEN CONSIDERED FOR A SPACE YOU WILL
NEED TO FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS.

Please write me back at the following address
vendor@wetspot.org
<http://us.f317.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Compose?To=vendor@wetspot.org&YY=19248&order=down&sort=date&pos=1&view=a&head=b>
with this requested
information filled out.

1. Name of Vendor

2. Contact information, (phone and e-mail address) and
your membership number if you are a member, there is
no member discount for this show, all booths are the
same price.

3. A description of what you are selling. Please be
specific. If you are chosen this paragraph will be
used in mailings to the Wet Spot membership and
other local advertisement of this event.

4. Space requirement. The booths are approx 8x10.
If you need more space it is on a limited availability
basis with people who need it for unique or large
bulky items being first in line.

5. Do you have any special requirements, electric,
phone, wall space for signs?

6. Will you be sharing the space with someone (if so,
who)?

7. Would you like to share your space with another
vendor?

8. Do you need the included table for your booth?

If you are picked to be a vendor you will be asked to
send in your check or money order prior to the event.
($100.00 per space). Those who are not picked will be
put on a waiting list. All money must be paid by
December 1st. (unless special arrangements are made
with me). You will receive a confirmation letter with
our mailing address on Nov 15th.

Please respond to this e-mail by Nov 5th. On Nov 8th
I will be informing those who have been chosen for the
Holiday Vendor Fair in December and also those on the
waiting list.

A short FAQ

Q. Whats the booth size?
A. Booth size approx 8x10 with table and two chairs.

Q. Is electric available?
A. Yes, drop fee TBA

Q. Is phone lines available?
A. Not at this time

Q. Can we ship items to the event site?
A. No.

Q. Will there be local advertising?
A. Yes, advertising for this even is being produced
and will be mass media.

If you have any other questions feel free to write me
and ask, I will get the answer to you as quickly as I
can. On the items above such as drop fees for electric

and phone availability, I will send out a notice as
soon as I have the answers.

Again, this is going to be an all day event with
other functions drawing people as well, we should have
a great turnout and I look forward to seeing you all
there.

Now, were asking that you also help promote this
event and spread the word to other vendors and
merchants that may not already be on our mailing list,
feel free to pass this email on to merchants or
vendors that you feel would do well for our customers.
Please, only merchants or vendors should recieve this
email.

Thank you for taking the time to read this lengthy
e-mail.

I look forward to seeing you in December.

What a gorgeous day Mother Nature provided for this event, superb weather for the naked and near naked. Had an absolute blast vending this year! Got to see folks I'd not seen in a while, beat on people for charity and fun, and we did pretty darned well on sales. Is it just me or does the event become more pansexual each year? It sure seemed I saw a lot more m/f partners this year than last, an overwhelmingly larger proportion than I use to see back when I first began attending the event in the 90s. It's nice to see all aspects of alternative lifestyle so well represented and all having a great time buying toys. I think my St Andrews cross just might end up becoming a regular fixture when vending at large events as it seemed to bring in folks to check out our wares. We were treated to a lovely erotic flogging mini-scene and I snapped pics like crazy...what a crowd that scene drew! It was quite hot!

Did everyone else have as good a time as I did?

Vending at Folsom? Where's your space located?

Well not much posting going on. Hopefully because everyone has been selling , making things to sell at Folsom, or having too much fun to bother with online forums! I thought it might be good to share with others vending just where our booth space(s) will be at Folsom that way if a person is looking for an item we don't carry but we know someone here that does we can refer the customer. Since there are so many vendors I think it might make it more likely a customer would follow a referral if they had an idea where a booth is located instead of hearing (for example) "Oh...we don't make those but Intensity, Inc. does and they are here today...somewhere.." . So share if you want, don't if you don't want..it's just an idea. I wish everyone a very lucrative and enjoyable Folsom Street Fair!!

If you want to go to Folsom Street Fair and share a booth with another vendor, I have a half booth space because one of the people sharing with me had to cancel. We provide the canopy, a five foot table, two chairs, and insurance. You provide (some of) the labor to put up and take down the canopies, and pay $200. Your space will be 5' by 10'.

If you want to do this, please let me know, ASAP. Send me a message here or at domina@frugaldomme.com.

Lady Thorn's Fetish Flea and Bizarre Bazarre

Well it's nearly upon us again, the thrice yearly Fetish Flea at Hogtied in SF. I think I personally have only missed one Flea in the last 4 years and I don't think PantherProwLs has missed any! It's always such a good time getting to see old friends and vendors we know (and playing at Fandango afterward is such an awesome added perk...once a station opens up!). Hope to see the local vendors on list at the event and perhaps in the future we can convince some here from other areas to participate! It's always fun to see what new, wickedly creative items Domina has been fashioning since the last event and her Bondage Bears totally rock (mine has her own upholstered wingback chair)!

For those here from areas other than CA do you have any events like our community Flea? As stated previously ours happens 3 times a year, always the same Sundays, and we have quite a mixture of vendors. Everything from freshly braided leather whips to well loved, used items including clothing and boots are found for sale there.

Embers (really trying to get this group going a bit)
